Myanmar's Nat Festival (Spirit Festival)- August Full Moon Day

Taungpyone Nat Festival

Taungpyone Nat Festival, 10 km north of Mandalay, Myanmar's most famous nat (spirit) festival. Held from the 10th day of waxing to the full moon of Wagaung and lasts 6 days. It is very boisterous.

This event is visited by all those who worship Nat, especially the traders and merchants who want help for more profits!

Yadanagu Pwe.

Held in honour of Popa Medaw, the mother of the Taungpyone brothers.
Mount Popa Nat Festival, Mt. Popa.

Held from the 9th - 13th days of the waning moon of Wagaun to celebrate the departure of the Taungpyone brothers of China.
